North Korea

I just got news that North Korea performed their first nuclear weapons testing. This scares the hell out of me. I am not sure how to feel.

no one does, hb.

also, please don't forget that there are thousands upon thousands of people who were deformed since birth who can attest to the fact that the biggest country on North America (and many others on many continents) has done the same for three generations now. It is certainly disturbing to know that we still haven't burned our hands enough on that stovetop of evolution and we continue to play with fire.

Perhaps a more sharpshooting version of war is necessary. Legalize selective assassination. Less innocents are at risk.

Then again, the planet is overpopulated. Maybe we just cannot share space anymore. Major drag huh?

Well, wish I could have said it as good as hubris, but the thoughts are the same. So, ditto hubris. :)
I can remember people talking about being afraid of this since I was in grade school. Always someone risking others, innocence doesn't matter to those who have the power to test such things. Sad.

Scum if it was that easy i would like to think it would be done already.

Hubris yes I agree very much, I guess that is also what disturbes me is that we know the amount of distruction these weapons already do so what is the point of testing them. not only are you harming your own people from the effects of it but you are harming the entire earth. I truely saddens me. I am outraged that we keep on destroying our planet...all for what?!? I had a rather long discussion on my views with my mom and she shared hers, it was inciteful but really I don't know what the answer is :( just know this is not...

Kathi I agree Hubris said it very nicely. Ahh testing don't even get me started on the outrage of big corps and govts testing on it's people whether it be medicines, chemicals or weapons! Tuskegee Project, Walla Walla tests, EPA permitted Pesticide Tests,...Desert Storm and all the tests they did there on the soilders! Not to mention all the drug testing they do without some people's knowledge or consent! It outrages me! We lost all value in human life somewhere along the line. :( I can't help but feel that this also was the push into what will be WWIII and am also afraid it will not stay off our land for long... :(

Py God I only hope that I don't live to see that day either. The state of the world seriously scares me enough to consider what it will be like and if I would want to bring another life into this world. I so want to be a mother someday but I have step back from my selfish desires and consider the life my child would be able to lead and well it is not looking too positive. :(

I say duck and cover under a tinfoil blanket and crab walk to your underground bunker.

I hope you have enough macaroni and cheese to handle that.
