Frustrating...

I got told again that I was too qualified for a job... That makes a total of 5 times I've been told that! I never thought that I would have to downplay my experience and knowledge to get a stupid job! What the hell? Am I caught in some nasty vortex twighlight zone where this is the only job I can have?? I am not sure if it is so much as my being "too qualified" as them not wanting to pay real money...Maybe places here just can't pay what I am worth and they don't want to low ball me? This is all very frustrating. My interviews are going great (with the exception of one) and they check my references and I even go back for one or two more interviews only to get a call telling me that they really love me but that they think I am too qualified for the job. What exactly does that mean? It's not like I can go apply to be a rocket scientist or anything...Wouldn't you want someone smart working for you? This is getting bothersome...Maybe if I pick up some redneck accent and stop talking in complete sentences I can get a job. :( I feel like I am wasting time.

Maybe you and I should go as a team. I'd bring you down in your qualifications...you'd bring me up in mine. Together, we'd make a great employee. :)

Py sadley I do that already, my experience is pretty extensive so I cut and edit each resume... :(

Kathi that would be lovely! Except how do we sell the fact that you live in Texas and I live in California? (But I think you probably have more experience than me!) ;)

(hugs) thanks guys!

It sounds like they're trying to hire someone who doesn't deserve as much money as you do. Your first impression is correct.

Othercat I know I need to learn how to be more patient and just let things like this flow, if it is meant to be it will happen...

Scum, yeah my thoughts too

Sass, ya know there aren't really that many high paying jobs around here, I guess I need to be more creative...hmm

Scum two, no I really don't think that will help, I don't want to scare people.
