Holy bologna Batman a month already!

Okay so new post.

Wow you know I didn’t realize that it has been a month till the lovely Mrs. V brought that to my attention. Time does fly when you are having fun.

You know good things are happening :) (must have been Kathi’s touch)

So my main job ended, they closed up shop for good and moved to Salt Lake City, needless to say I stayed here… I think I would stick out like a sore thumb in Utah. Ha.

I got my car fixed and relatively cheap too! Turns out it wasn’t my radiator (YEAH) it was my thermostat that was making my car overheating… I knew my car wasn’t going to make it all the way to my regular mechanics shop and I didn’t want to tow it so I asked our shop mechanic at my second job and he recommended someone and to my surprise made in a call to him as well to take care of me and do me right. That was so sweet of him, my car was fixed within an hour (AMAZING HUH) and the guy was really nice even put on my new lic plates for me… yeah they have been sitting on my passenger seat for over a month. :) They put a new radiator cap on too just to be safe and I was outta there for $150. It’s good to know nice people, I gave our shop guy a nice little thank you card while he was out so he found it and then immediately came to my office to say thank you, he looked a little teary too, it was so nice. Everyone says that guy is sort of a hard ass but I think he’s one of those soft – hard types. :)

You know I have been working so hard for the past year and I think the time has come where I won’t have to work as hard and maybe only have one full time job instead of two (GASP)…

I have a new living situation it’s working out pretty well, I moved 85% of my stuff to another house and I partially sublet my place out (it’s too good of a deal to leave completely) So I left all my dishes and big furniture including my bed at my place and I housesit for a fancy producer at his home. Yes I live there for free and he pays me, get that pays me to stay in his beautiful, big peaceful home. I feed his cat and his coy in the ponds out back and he’s home maybe 6 days a month… maybe. So I have this huge home all to myself with a big fireplace, 4 bedrooms, a den, a living room, 3 bathrooms, Jacuzzi tub, awesome kitchen with every fancy appliance and tool known to man (fuck it’s like Sur La Tab and Pampered Chef in here) and gloriously large plush backyard…with lemon, tangerine, orange, avocado and apricot trees and his every growing garden…and the best part he has a maid and a team (literally a team of like 15 people that show up every Thursday) to take care of the yard… I even have a number for two guys that will come to the house to move, fix or take care of anything that needs to be done. Cool huh?

So yeah that’s that… and he is a really nice down to earth guy, real peaceful and quite. He keeps his home here to get away from LA…he found out that I lost my main job. Know what he did? Is paying me more to organize some of his life for him, light bookkeeping some spring cleaning and I am even planning a party for him and cooking for 30 people… oh I am making homemade chocolate bowls (haven’t decided if I want to use white or dark yet, thoughts?) with homemade tangerine sherbet (yep he has an ice cream maker too) and candied mint leaves… I’ll take a picture of them because I think it is going to look pretty cool.

So yeah I have been spending time on me, imagine that me! Not working just enjoying me and my extra time and my friends… So the first week was hard, not going to lie. I paced my house doing circles cleaning and twiddling my thumbs b/c I didn’t know what to do with an extra 8 hours out of the day… so I went to a jog, yeah a two hour jog. It felt REALLY good to do that again! I think I may even start training for a summer marathon… we’ll see. And I take my new bike and ride to the beach, it has been so nice. I am starting to unwind and relax again, it feels great! I forgot what this was like and enjoying every last minute of it b/c I know it won’t last too long… I am a workaholic and will have another job by May, I am giving myself a month off…although I may wait till June and take the entire month of May off, we’ll see. If I do that it means less money for my Chicago trip and that would be a bummer. So we’ll see. My job that was my second job but is now my only full time job ends the first week of May…they want me to stay with the company and maybe take a different position but it all really depends on what is available in May… and how much they are willing to pay me.

Oh I spent two days at the Happiest Place on Earth! Yep Disneyland! I had a blast and we all acted like little kids, this was by far my best trip to Disneyland even though I lost my sunglasses… my Mickey ears are proudly displayed on my bed post, they even light up!

There are a few other things that are really working themselves out as well that I am excited about! Things are good.

Ah you know that trip I took for the wedding wasn’t TOO bad either. I didn’t hear how I’ve gotten chubby AT ALL! This is a first for my fam! I actually got told how good I look and everyone was so shocked, they kept saying how much I look more like a woman know since the last time I saw them… well really some of these people from my family I haven’t seen since I was in high school so yeah I could understand that… it was a huge to do and there was minimal drama all things considered…I even got to see my beautiful niece again! My sis is going to marry the loser (BOO) but as long as she is happy that is what counts I suppose. We’ll see how this one plays out, they’ve been engaged two or three other times if my memory serves me right. Oh and I even got to hear her say her first word! She’s only four months old, already pushing herself up and trying to stand as best she can… and she said Hi clear as day a couple of times! We were all sitting there and my brother was holding her while we all googoo’d and ahh’d at her saying Hi sweet pea and she say “HI” we all stopped and looked at each other questioning if we head that right then did it again and all of us said hi sweet pea, she said Hi about three more times. I think my sis was a little disappointed b/c she wanted her first words to be mama. But amazing none the less, hell she’s only 4 months old! I am buying my sis the baby sign language kits so that she can teach her sign language. Sign is really easy for babies to learn and I have done it with two of the kids I watch and you’d be amazed how fast they pick it up, I also think it helps alleviate some of the terrible twos b/c they are able to communicate with you.

You know not that I really care that much to begin with b/c I am extremely comfortable with myself and my body. I think I am beautiful! I have lost 10 pounds since having only one job… guess it’s being more active again…and less stress. I no longer have to manage a staff and listen to their whining; it’s fantastic! That place was long overdue for my leaving, it was beginning to become such a downer job and rarely do places have that affect on me.

So all in all I say things are going well! When I have a chance to upload more pictures I will :)
